Lovely little spot. I’d change the music and the sound levels, but overall nice job, Amnesty International. Also, I love Julian Rhind-Tutt - his playboy girlfriend had better watch out. So there you have it.

lovely new coldplay video →
I had trouble getting this one to work. Took me a few tries, but it was well worth it! While they aren’t breaking ground with the animation style, they have taken it to another level. It’s just beautiful. Honestly, it made my head hurt a bit it was so good.

The Terrible Think of Alpha-9 →
This short comes from a student, Jake Armstrong, at the School of Visual Arts. It’s really cute. Probably not the description he was going for. The color palette is perfect. It makes me want to buy a wacom cintiq (which he used to draw this entire short in flash - VERY impressive). I have an intuous, which I haven’t quite gotten down. I don’t like it, honestly.

Mixed media animation. Exactly what I want to be doing. Thank goodness I’m about to start grad school! I’ve gotta start making these things before all the good ideas are taken.
This video is lovely. She took the idea to the next level and got creative with the way characters interact with the book. The only thing I would have done differently was use different music …...
They climbed into my head and got the idea for white on white stop motion. I have GOT to get a nice video camera and some lighting equipment, so that I can make these things happen.

Where the Wild Things Are TRAILER! →
Honestly, I’m glad that nothing about the book’s story has stuck with me from my childhood. Only images are stuck in my head, so I have a feeling I’m really going to enjoy this film…unless they include Arcade Fire in the actual movie. Well, I can’t wait till October!
Update: I enjoyed it very much!
Vitamin →
Vitamin is a Chicago-based production company whose website I had a great time perusing this morning. Without having met any of the staff, it has to be my ideal workplace! Not only is all of the work phenomenal (from commercials to their “stuff” - illustrations and development), but no fat clips! and andrew bird are at the top of their friends list. If only they were in New York! I...
